An established engineering services business is seeking a Contracts Engineer to join its Contracts team based in Coleford. This is a key coordination role within a busy service centre environment, supporting repair, overhaul and upgrade projects for pumps, valves and rotating equipment across a wide range of industries, including Oil & Gas and high-end energy sectors.
The Role
Working closely with the Contracts Team Leader and Service Centre management, you will manage repair jobs from initial enquiry through to completion. The role combines commercial, technical and customer-facing responsibilities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to specification and within margin.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit accurate quotations within agreed timescales
Produce cost calculations for repair, manufacture and servicing activities
Manage contracts and orders through SAP (or similar MRP system), ensuring data accuracy
Liaise with internal departments regarding capacity, materials and subcontracting
Communicate regularly with customers to clarify requirements, negotiate pricing and delivery
Coordinate workflow and schedules to meet delivery commitments
Support purchasing and despatch activities, including export documentation
Work with vendors to ensure quality, cost and delivery targets are achieved
Provide technical input on repair and refurbishment solutions
Host customer visits and witness/performance testing when required
Monitor KPIs and support gross margin performance
About You
You will be commercially aware, technically minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Essential requirements:
Experience in a similar contracts, service or engineering coordination role
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and reporting tools
Experience using SAP or another MRP/ERP system
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and multitask
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach

Working Environment
This is a service-centre-based role with occasional travel to suppliers or customer sites as required.
