About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering manufacturer based in Coleford. In this role, you'll be responsible for assembling a range of pump systems - including electric and diesel-driven skid sets - to engineering drawings and specifications.
You'll play an important part in delivering high-quality engineered products that meet customer and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble bare shaft pumps and complete electric and diesel skid sets following detailed engineering drawings and bills of materials.
- Identify and raise any assembly or quality issues with supervisors and QA engineers.
- Complete project documentation, including production data books and check sheets.
- Maintain high standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, QA, planners, and the test team to ensure smooth workflow.
- Handle tools and materials responsibly to prevent loss or damage.
Skills & Experience
- Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical discipline.
- Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years' mechanical fitting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a methodical approach to work.
- Week 1: Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:00
- Week 2: Monday-Thursday, 14:00-22:00; Friday, 06:00-14:00
(30-minute unpaid lunch break per day)
