Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join Conwy Council's School Finance Team on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Duties Will Include:

Assisting in the preparation of annual school budgets for primary, secondary and special schools.

Supporting schools with financial planning and projections to maximise resource effectiveness.

Assisting in the closure of accounts and preparation of final year-end figures.

Maintaining a financial reporting system for all primary schools, including monthly reconciliations.

Providing advice to schools on all aspects of budget management, payments, and charges.

Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, VAT rules, and audit requirements.

Responding to queries from schools, suppliers, and internal departments.

Regularly visiting schools to deliver financial support and resolve administrative or financial issues.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of working in Finance and Accounts
- Strong numeracy and IT skills
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
