Our client is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Scrutiny & Policy Officer to join their team at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. What You'll Do:
As a Scrutiny & Policy Officer, you will play a crucial role in advising the Police and Crime Commissioner on essential matters such as:
- Planning, performance, and policing policy.
- Managing consultation and engagement with the public and relevant bodies.
- Overseeing the response to inspection reports from HMIC and other agencies.
- Preparing and monitoring statutory plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and advise the Commissioner on policies and performance targets.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance community engagement and communication.
- Write and manage policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect best practises.
- Provide briefings on new policy initiatives and prepare responses for approval.
- Represent the Commissioner in regional collaborations and meetings.
What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:
- A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Experience in community engagement and public service.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of equality legislation and diversity issues.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, in Welsh and English.
- Proficiency in IT, with the capability to present data effectively.

Additional Information:
- A valid transport access is required for travel throughout the Force area and beyond.
- Some evening meetings may be necessary.
- You will have to be police vetted so the criteria for this is that you have resided within the UK continuously for at least 3 years
