We are currently seeking a dynamic History Teacher to join a school in Cumbria immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and informative History lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 teaching experience would be an advantage.
  • Utilise strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate reliability, commitment, and the qualities of a good role model including compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Work collaboratively with other teaching staff and contribute to the school’s objectives.
  • Maintain high standards of education and uphold the school’s principles and values.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 is advantageous.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with robust subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills; must be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
  • Must share a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
