Finance & Payroll Assistant – Manufacturing | County Durham | 4 Days In-Office �?  Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with payroll experience, looking to join a dynamic manufacturing team in County Durham? We’re seeking a Finance & Payroll Assistant to support our growing operations, working a hybrid schedule of 4 days in-office and 1 day remote each week.?? The Role You’ll report to the Finance Manager and play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate financial records and timely payroll processing. This is a hands-on position where you’ll:
  • Payroll Processing: Run weekly/monthly payroll for 100+ employees (time-and-attendance systems, statutory deductions, RTI submissions)
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:
    • Process supplier invoices, match to POs, and prepare BACS payments
    • Raise customer invoices and reconcile incoming payments
  • General Ledger Support:
    • Post journals, expense claims, and accruals
    • Assist with month-end close tasks and balance-sheet reconciliations
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare weekly cash-flow updates and ad-hoc management reports
    • Support budget vs. actual reviews for production and overheads
  • Administration & Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate personnel records and payroll documentation
    • Liaise with HMRC, pensions providers, and benefit schemes
The role will pay £30-34k DOE plus other benefits.
