LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT - SEND

TimePlan Education is proud to be working in partnership with a high-performing SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) special school, recently rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted.

This is a school that truly lives its values. Staff work closely together to provide consistently high-quality provision, and there's a genuine sense of teamwork and community throughout. The school has a welcoming, family feel where every member of staff plays a vital role in helping pupils succeed.

They are now looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants / SEN Teaching Assistants to join their established and successful team, with an immediate start available. Previous experience working with SEN or SEMH pupils is highly desirable.



The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, under the guidance of the class teacher or form tutor

  • Helping pupils to access learning while supporting positive behaviour

  • Promoting safeguarding, welfare and the wellbeing of all pupils

  • Supervising and supporting pupils to ensure their safety and engagement in learning activities

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and acting as a strong role model

  • Encouraging inclusion and helping pupils feel valued and accepted in the classroom

  • Responding to individual needs with consistency, patience and understanding

  • Using positive reinforcement and celebrating progress and achievements

  • Being directly involved in behaviour management processes, including Team Teach and the supervised withdrawal of pupils when required, to ensure the safety of both pupils and staff
