Field Service Engineer (Particle Characterisation)

Are you a Field Service Engineer with Particle Characterisation knowledge or similar looking to work in a well-established company that have been experts in their technical niche for over 20 years, who are looking to offer a competitive salary, provide internal and external training with a company vehicle and private healthcare?

On offer is the opportunity to join a tight-knit company who have been operating since 2003 and represent world-leading brands such as Beckman Coulter, Bettersize and FlowCam. The company currently specialise in particle characterisation and material analysis, providing advanced scientific instruments and expert support to clients across pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, material science and beyond.

In this varied and autonomous role, you will install, maintain, and repair particle characterisation instruments at customer sites across the UK, typically handling three maintenance visits and one repair per week, with 5 to 6 overnight stays per month. You will provide technical support both on-site and remotely, maintain service records and inventory, and ensure that the company CRM system is kept up to date.

This role would suit a Field Service Engineer or similar looking to apply their technical skills in a customer-facing environment, gain exposure to advanced scientific instrumentation, and enjoy the independence and variety of a field-based role within a supportive and growing company.

The Role

  • Install, maintain, and repair particle characterisation instruments at customer sites across the UK
  • Provide remote technical support via phone and email to ensure customer success
  • Complete preventative maintenance visits, typically three per week, with occasional repairs and UK travel (including overnight stays)
  • Maintain accurate service records, manage car stock inventory, and update internal CRM systems

The Person

  • Background in field service, instrumentation support, or a similar technical role
  • Qualification in Engineering, Physics, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel across the UK
  • Full UK driving licence
