My client are a growing e-commerce business with products to suit a wide range of industries. They are seeking a business development manager with experience of the valve industry in the UK. Offering a wide range of products to suit various industries and a commitment to providing reliable solutions, they are established as a trusted name within the market. To support expansion plans and drive growth, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to join their team.

It is highly desirable that the candidate is able to demonstrate strong knowledge of the Industrial Valve industry.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Business Development Managers role will be to target and develop both new and existing customers, end users, OEMs and contractors, generating leads and enquiries & meeting targets. This position is responsible for formulating and executing strategic business development initiatives to expand market share, enhance customer relationships, and maximise revenue streams. Expected to be actively visiting customers multiple times a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement specific business development strategies in alignment with goals and objectives.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities, trends, and threats within the valve industry.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and nurture strong relationships with key customers and partners to understand their needs and align business strategies accordingly.
  • New Business Development: Identify, evaluate and visit potential new business opportunities.
  • Sales Growth: Drive sales and revenue growth through the development and execution of sales and marketing plans, including pricing strategies and product positioning

JOB DIMENSIONS / SCOPE

Responsible for managing and expanding a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from small businesses to large enterprises across different industries. The ability to understand and cater to the unique needs of each customer is critical.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience in a sales or business development role focusing on end users, OEMs and contractors.
  • Technical knowledge of industrial valves, actuation and controls.
  • Customer-centric approach with a strong ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • A self-motivated and results-oriented professional with a drive to achieve and exceed targets.

Willingness to travel, this role requires frequent travel and overnight stays within the region to meet clients and support the sales team - Full UK driving licence is required.
