Senior Database Administrator (Senior SQL DBA)

Are you a SQL DBA looking for your next exciting opportunity? if so this could be an excellent opportunity for you to work with a large scale financial services organisation who are currently integrating with a large scale bank, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to gain experience working on this exciting project. You will take ownership of SQL Databases and guide more junior members on your team.

About the role

  • In this role you will be the Subject Matter Expert for MS SQL Server
  • You will work on BAU (Business as usual) work.
  • You will complete the troubleshooting of and resolution to production incidents or problems to meet operational IT needs and ensure business as usual services are maintained within agreed SLAs.
  • In this role you will be responsible for the creation, quality, and governance of technical and standards documentation to maintain a stable and consistent environment.
  • The role also includes the provision of assistance and influence to the Architect, Development, and Support teams, to implement and support solutions.
  • You'll look for improvement opportunities which will involve coaching, mentoring, planning, supervising, supporting, and training of your team members.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with MS SQL SERVER RDBMS 2019 and higher, including High availability (AOAG)
  • Experience in Production Infrastructure support for critical 24x7 services
  • Experienced with Database technologies such as: Microsoft SQL Server (on prem and AWS EC2), Oracle (on UNIX) (desirable) AWS RDS (desirable)
  • Strong focus on troubleshooting, planning and mitigating risk
  • Identify service improvements and efficiency's
  • Proficiency in Jira
  • Powershell Scripting
  • MS SSAS, SSRS, SSIS
