About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join a dynamic maintenance team. This role is critical in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical services across a diverse estate. You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnostics, repairs, and minor installation works on a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations, ensuring timely and safe resolution.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and statutory compliance tasks, including:
- Periodic Inspection & Testing
- Emergency Lighting Testing
- Fire Alarm Testing
- Portable Appliance Testing
- Diagnose faults and determine appropriate solutions, escalating where necessary.
- Assist with installation and refurbishment projects, including minor power systems.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and service documentation.
- Liaise with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to minimize disruption and deliver excellent customer service.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Recognized apprenticeship or equivalent experience in electrical building services (commercial, industrial, domestic).
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or Maintenance.
- City & Guilds qualifications including:
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations
- Strong understanding of statutory compliance and Health & Safety.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet SLAs.
- Full, clean UK or EU driving license.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems (BS 5839).
- Experience with LV/HV systems.
- Awareness of confined space entry and asbestos safety.
- Understanding of mechanical building systems.
