Following a period of significant expansion - driven by strategic investment and corporate development-this respected financial services group is seeking an experienced Head of Tax to take the lead on all tax matters across the organisation. With ambitious plans ahead and a supportive senior leadership team, this is a rare opportunity to join the business at a time when your impact will be truly felt.

Sitting as a key member of the senior finance leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing corporate, indirect, and employment taxes across the Group. You'll lead an established team of tax professionals, shape the tax strategy, and manage external relationships including with HMRC.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading all tax affairs across the Group - corporate tax, indirect taxes (including VAT), operational and employment tax

  • Managing the production of timely, accurate tax reporting in line with regulatory and internal control expectations

  • Acting as the primary tax contact for HMRC and external advisors

  • Providing commercially focused tax guidance to senior stakeholders across the business

  • Driving continuous improvement in processes, compliance, and strategic tax planning

  • Developing and mentoring a high-performing tax team, ensuring a collaborative and engaged function

Who We're Looking For:

  • A qualified accountant or tax professional (ACA / ACCA / CTA / CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience

  • A background in leading tax functions within large, complex organisations-ideally including financial services

  • Strong experience in tax compliance, risk management, and interaction with HMRC

  • Comfortable operating as a senior leader and influencing executive-level decision-making

  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to find pragmatic tax solutions in technically complex scenarios

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience within regulated or financial institutions

  • Exposure to business transformation, restructuring, or integration environments

  • A confident communicator with the ability to present technical matters clearly to non-specialists
