Murray McIntosh are currently seeking a Principal Firmware Engineer to work for a client of ours on a permanent basis as detailed below:

Responsibilities:

  • Realising product specification through embedded firmware
  • Create firmware requirement specifications and design documentation
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of the embedded development processes to ensure continuous enhancement of the team and our processes
  • Contribute to definition of work, approach and architectural solutions
  • Own quality of your out put ensuring appropriate levels of quality
  • Maintain and update existing firmware addressing defects and implementing enhancements
  • Run and participate in design reviews, creation of reports and associate documentation
  • Collaborate with validation tea to increase understanding and reduce development iterations
  • Ensure product compliance to ISO9001.

Skills & qualifications:

  • Expert in the use of C & C++
  • Experience of programming on real time operating systems
  • Knowledge of STM32 and FreeRTOS
  • Keil IDE, MPLAB for STM32 (advantageous)
  • Experience developing products in highly regulated industries
  • Experience of developing firmware for low power safety critical devices
  • Knowledge of TFT LCD display control drivers and GUI development
  • Familiarity with RF technologies such as BLE, LoRa, Zigbee etc would be advantageous
