Murray McIntosh are currently seeking a Principal Firmware Engineer to work for a client of ours on a permanent basis as detailed below:
Responsibilities:
- Realising product specification through embedded firmware
- Create firmware requirement specifications and design documentation
- Contribute to the continued improvement of the embedded development processes to ensure continuous enhancement of the team and our processes
- Contribute to definition of work, approach and architectural solutions
- Own quality of your out put ensuring appropriate levels of quality
- Maintain and update existing firmware addressing defects and implementing enhancements
- Run and participate in design reviews, creation of reports and associate documentation
- Collaborate with validation tea to increase understanding and reduce development iterations
- Ensure product compliance to ISO9001.
Skills & qualifications:
- Expert in the use of C & C++
- Experience of programming on real time operating systems
- Knowledge of STM32 and FreeRTOS
- Keil IDE, MPLAB for STM32 (advantageous)
- Experience developing products in highly regulated industries
- Experience of developing firmware for low power safety critical devices
- Knowledge of TFT LCD display control drivers and GUI development
- Familiarity with RF technologies such as BLE, LoRa, Zigbee etc would be advantageous
