Description
- Design and maintain processes to ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting
- Oversee end-to-end payroll tax operations
- Provide expert guidance on tax-related matters
- Ensure payroll processes and controls align with SAO requirements and SOX compliance standards.
- Primary point of contact with HMRC
- Lead payroll optimisation initiatives
- Manage, develop, and support the payroll team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring high performance and accuracy.
Profile
A successful Payroll Manager should have:
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a payroll team within a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence with the ability to work on-site across multiple locations
- Strong knowledge of payroll and HR legislation, with the ability to ensure compliance and apply best practice across all processes.
- Proficiency with a range of payroll software platforms, with experience in Dayforce considered a strong advantage.
- Proven capability to make effective, timely decisions in complex payroll scenarios, supported by strong problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse data, troubleshoot issues, and deliver accurate solutions.
- A proactive mindset with a track record of driving process improvements and efficiencies.
