Role Overview

As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the upkeep and servicing of all machinery and technical equipment on site, as well as overseeing the facilities and grounds. This is a hands-on role with a clear pathway to team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with site procedures
  • Respond swiftly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Install and commission new equipment
  • Liaise with contractors and ensure safety protocols are followed
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and procurement
  • Fault-find and resolve electrical/mechanical issues
  • Support continuous improvement and performance targets
  • Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Completed apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical discipline
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
Skills & Experience
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings
  • Proven fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing (desirable)
  • Sewing machine maintenance experience (desirable)
  • IT literate, especially with Microsoft Office
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Experience in jig/tool design and manufacture (desirable)
  • Minimum 5 years in a maintenance/facilities role (desirable)
  • IPAF 3a/3b qualification (desirable)
