Job Role: Engineering Manager
Location: Coventry
Shift: Permanent / Monday - Friday
Salary: c.75,000 p/a
The Role:
The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering function, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of precision engineering solutions. This role requires a technically strong leader who can drive innovation, ensure manufacturing excellence, and support continuous improvement across all engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team, providing mentorship, technical direction, and performance management.
- Oversee the design, development, and validation of precision-engineered components and systems.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality, and commercial teams to ensure engineering projects meet customer requirements, timelines, and budgets.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and capability within the engineering department.
- Manage engineering change processes and maintain accurate documentation and CAD models.
- Support NPI and process development activities.
- Provide technical leadership in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in precision engineering or high-tolerance manufacturing environments.
- Proven track record in engineering leadership or management roles.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling design, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CAD/CAM systems
- Experience to drive productivity and CI
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
