Sellick Partnership is partnering with a Not-for-Profit organisation to recruit a Strategic Programme Director on a permanent basis.

The Responsibilities of the Strategic Programme Director will be:

  • Lead the strategic planning and programme management aligned with the vision and goals.
  • Work closely with the Bishop and Senior Staff Team to articulate and implement a clear direction.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of multiple diocesan-wide strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Develop effective programme governance, reporting structures, and risk management processes.
  • Liaise with external funding bodies to shape funding proposals and manage relationships.
  • Recruit and manage the Programme Management Office team and external contractors.
  • Act as a key advisor, supporting change management and communication efforts.
  • Ensure clear stakeholder engagement, reporting, and accountability at all levels.

The Ideal candidate for the Strategic Programme Director will have:

  • A degree or equivalent experience, with substantial experience managing complex programmes.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning and leading organisational transformation.
  • Experience working within or with complex institutions; understanding of the Church of England is desirable.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to operate in ambiguous environments with resilience and strategic focus.
  • Experience engaging diverse stakeholders and managing change across varied communities.
  • A values-driven leadership style aligned with the Diocese's values: Christ-like, Integrity, Community, and Service.
  • It is an occupational requirement that the postholder is a practising Christian.
