Position: Material Handler - Boxing Room Operative
Location: Cramlington
Contract Type: Temporary (12 months)
Hourly Rate: 12.65
Working Pattern: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Pack finished products accurately into cartons, boxes, or containers in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Verify product counts, batch numbers, and labels for utmost accuracy.
- Apply labels, seals, and necessary documentation correctly.
- Conduct inspections on products and packaging materials for any defects or damage.
- Keep the boxing/packaging area clean and organised.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and compliance requirements (e.g., GMP, OSHA, EHS).
- Record production data, counts, and discrepancies as required.
- Collaborate effectively with production, quality, and warehouse teams.
- Assist with palletizing and preparing shipments for transport.
- Promptly report equipment issues, product defects, or process deviations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in packaging, manufacturing, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Forklift training/licence is a plus!
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and SOPs.
- Basic math and documentation skills are essential.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights (typically up to 40-50 lbs).
Work Environment:
- You will work in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- PPE (gloves, gowns, safety shoes, etc.) may be required.
- The role involves standing, repetitive motions, and manual handling.
