Production Team Leader
  • Annual Salary: £27,000
  • Location: Cramlington
  • Job Type: Full-time
Day-to-day of the role:
  • Perform daily Production Operative duties including operating machinery, manual handling, and stock control.
  • Deputise for the Production Manager as required, taking ownership of decisions within the production facility.
  • Lead by example in Health & Safety compliance, ensuring the production facility is clean and organised for a safe working environment.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and equipment standards.
  • Monitor and manage waste, including the review of animal feed procedures.
  • Train team members in role-specific tasks and safety, ensuring performance standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of product yields and complete necessary documentation for daily and weekly handovers.
  • Collaborate with the Technical team to ensure compliance with Food Safety and GMP practices.
  • Handle occasional computer-based administration tasks such as stock transfers, order booking, and managing rotas.
  • Maintain a clean external boundary and ensure all personnel adhere to PPE and entry procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-moving goods distribution or food manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of production operations and quality control.
  • Experience in manufacturing/production planning.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with fresh produce is highly advantageous.
