Talent STEM have partnered with a leading organisation in the chemical processing industry who are seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to lead its quality function at a state-of-the-art facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a GMP-qualified professional with strong management skills and a chemistry background to drive quality excellence in a dynamic, regulated environment.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate all QC department activities to support manufacturing and supply chain processes, ensuring compliance with GMP and company standards.

- Manage, review, and update the Integrated Management System (IMS) for laboratory and process development operations.

- Oversee product quality by monitoring manufacturing processes, writing and reviewing specifications, and issuing Certificates of Analysis.

- Ensure operability and calibration of analytical instruments, including GC machines, and provide technical support to resolve equipment issues.

- Represent the quality function during internal and external audits (e.g., BSI, EA, HSE) and drive corrective actions for non-conformances.

- Conduct weekly housekeeping audits, maintain risk assessments, and ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines.

- Hire, train, and develop a high-performing QC team, providing leadership and guidance to meet departmental objectives.

 

 

Candidate requirements

- Proven experience as a QC Manager in a GMP-regulated environment, ideally within chemical processing or pharmaceutical industries.

- Strong background in chemistry, with hands-on experience using analytical instruments such as GC.

- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.

- In-depth knowledge of GMP, regulatory compliance, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards).

- Excellent communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

- Proactive approach to process improvement, problem-solving, and maintaining high safety standards.

- Experience with audit representation and managing non-conformances is highly desirable.
