Accountant / Bookkeeper

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Two mornings per week (Tues-Thurs)

Our client is a growing and forward thinking organisation that provides specialist assessment, rehabilitation, and case management services to individuals and families who are rebuilding their lives after a brain injury. The Role

They’re seeking a dynamic and conscientious Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their dedicated team on a part-time basis. This is an ideal role for a professional who enjoys hands-on financial work, welcomes variety, and thrives in a collaborative, purpose-driven setting. You’ll play a pivotal role in contributing to their financial processes and helping them continuously improve how they operate.

While regular in-office presence is required at their Hawkhurst location for a minimum of two mornings per week, they are looking for someone with some flexibility to work a little more if required.

You will be working to ensure the day-to-day financial health and compliance of their organisation.

Key duties include:

  • Creating and issuing client invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Maintaining detailed financial records and ledgers
  • Managing VAT submissions and corporation tax filings
  • Conducting day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero and related platforms
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to accounting processes
  • Participating positively as a key member of a small, caring, and high-trust team

Skills and Qualifications

  • AAT Level 4, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrable experience in a finance or bookkeeping role, ideally with small team oversight
  • Proficiency in cloud-based accounting platforms, particularly Xero
  • Sharp attention to detail and a solutions-oriented approach
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Friendly, upbeat, and confident communicator who thrives in a team-oriented environment

Work Pattern & Flexibility

  • Minimum Commitment: 2 mornings per week on-site in Hawkhurst
  • Additional Hours: There may be potential for more hours as required which can be shaped around your availability and interests
