Semi-Senior AccountantCrawley£28,000 - £38,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)Full-time (4-day working week, Monday to Thursday, 08:30 to 18:00)

We are delighted to be working with our client, a fast-growing and technology-driven accountancy firm based in Crawley, to recruit a talented Semi-Senior Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about accounting, client service, and career progression. This role offers the chance to work closely with the Managing Director as the first hire in a forward-thinking firm. You'll have a unique opportunity to influence the company's growth and be involved in a wide variety of work, including accounts preparation, tax compliance, client advisory services, and cloud accounting implementation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts (FRS 102 1A & FRS 105), management accounts, and VAT returns
  • Assist in preparing corporation tax computations and self-assessment tax returns
  • Perform bookkeeping, payroll, CIS returns, and pension submissions
  • Work with cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Dext
  • Support with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for clients
  • Liaise with clients regularly, providing proactive support and advice
  • Keep up to date with UK accounting and tax legislation

About you:

  • Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACA/ACCA/AAT) with 2-3 years' experience in a practice environment
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of client work
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting and tax principles
  • Skilled in cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Dext preferred)
  • Proactive and tech-savvy, with a drive to continuously improve processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
