Position: Lighting Electronics Integration Engineer

Contract: Until 31st January 2026 (likely to extend)
Location: Crewe, hybrid - 3 days on site per week | 35 hours per week
Pay Rate: Up to 38.49ph Outside IR35

International travel required (infrequent, Europe)

Full UK driving licence required







The Opportunity:

We're seeking a Lighting Integration Engineer to join the world-leading luxury automotive manufacturer Bentley Motors within their Electrical R&D department! Working on next-generation programmes, this role will focus on developing and integrating exterior lighting electronics and software solutions to deliver exceptional quality and performance across future vehicle lines.

You'll collaborate closely with Group counterparts to design, test, and integrate lighting functions, ensuring seamless system behaviour and compliance with brand standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology within an iconic automotive brand.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop electrical system software and functional requirements for lighting systems.
  • Develop interfaces to other vehicle electrical systems and support system integration activities.
  • Coordinate and manage software releases, ensuring calibration maturity and build alignment.
  • Conduct validation testing using both hardware rigs and vehicles.
  • Support key stakeholders including Production Planning, Certification, Aftersales, and Quality teams.
  • Drive problem-solving and root cause analysis for lighting-related issues.
  • Manage supplier interactions and maintain close collaboration with VW Group colleagues.
  • Contribute to feasibility and concept studies, project planning, and FuSi implementation.






About You:

  • Previous experience in automotive lighting electronics or system integration engineering.
  • Knowledge of vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, Flexray) and diagnostic tools (IDEX, ODIS or similar).
  • Degree in automotive electronics, electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across R&D and Group partners.
  • Flexibility to travel internationally (mainly within Europe).
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
  • German language skills beneficial but not required.
