Maintenance Engineer 
Location: Crewkerne, Somerset
Salary: £34,000 per annum (£16.79/hour) + Overtime (£25.18/hour)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 7:45am – 6:00pm, Monday to Thursday (39 hours/week)
Overtime: Fridays – paid at time and a half
Holidays: 29 days per year (including bank holidays)

Job Overview:

We are urgently seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy production site in Crewkerne, Somerset. This is a mechanical and electrical maintenance role, responsible for performing planned and reactive maintenance on modern Injection Moulding Machines, Compression Moulding Presses, and other ancillary manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will also support general site maintenance, PAT testing, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on moulding machinery and plant equipment
  • Fault find and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns
  • Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Support machinery upgrades, installations, and continuous improvements
  • Carry out PAT testing and site safety checks
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies at all times

Preferred Experience & Skills:

While these are desirable, they are not essential as training may be provided.

  • Experience with Injection and Composite Moulding Presses
  • Time-served or qualified electrician
  • Strong mechanical maintenance background
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Forklift licence (advantageous)
