We’re thrilled to be opening the doors to a brand-new SEND Secondary School in Merstham, designed specifically for neurodivergent young people aged 11–16. With space for 100 students—80 at our main site and 20 at a smaller in Caterham—this is a unique opportunity to help shape a nurturing, inclusive environment from the ground up.

We are seeking a highly effective SENDCo to join us on this exciting project. This role offers the opportunity to work with the Head of School in all aspects of leadership and management, focusing on managing and developing learning and teaching, curriculum, careers & work experience, assessment, and enrichment throughout the designated phases of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of School in leadership and daily operations.
  • Mentor staff and lead CPD initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee a tailored, inclusive curriculum.
  • Act as Deputy Exam Officer and ensure JCQ compliance.
  • Lead careers education and post-16 transition planning.
  • Ensure EHCPs and SEND responsibilities are met.
  • Build strong relationships with families, staff, and external agencies.

What We’re Looking For

  • QTS/QTLS (essential); SEND training (desirable).
  • Leadership experience and/or willingness to complete NPQSL/SENDCo award.
  • Proven success in SEND or inclusive education.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
