We are seeking an outstanding Primary SEND Teacher (KS1 or KS2) with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join a vibrant school community. This role is crucial in catering to the needs of pupils with ASD, ensuring that all pupils enjoy and benefit from a high-quality education, and embodying the school's values and aims in all aspects of your work.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teach and support pupils with ASD/SEND, ensuring that each pupil achieves their full potential.
  • Develop and implement strategies that cater to the needs of pupils with ASD, enhancing their learning experiences and outcomes.
  • Plan and deliver the curriculum within the framework of current school policies, tailored to the needs of pupils with ASD/SEND.
  • Set high expectations for learning and behaviour, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of learning strategies to enable all pupils to become effective, enthusiastic, independent learners committed to lifelong learning.
  • Use data to monitor and evaluate progress, support pupils, raise attainment, and ensure pupils reach their full potential and targets. Keep detailed records of the progress of each child in line with policy.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and staff to achieve the best outcomes for pupils with ASD/SEND.
  • Take part in school events and extra-curricular activities, playing a full part in the life of the school community.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Primary Class Teacher, with specific skills and experience in teaching and supporting pupils with ASD/SEND.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of pupils with ASD and effective teaching methods to support their learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate pupils, staff, and the school community.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
  • Strong organisational and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all pupils.
