Gear Cutter

A well-established precision engineering company based in Croft, Leicestershire, specialising in high-quality gear manufacturing and machining solutions for Worldwide car brands. With a reputation for quality craftsmanship and reliability, the business continues to grow and is now seeking an experienced Gear Cutter to join the team.

As a Gear Cutter, you will be responsible for the production of precision gears using manual gear cutting machines. You’ll be working from technical drawings to produce high-quality components, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to customer specifications.

• Operate manual gear cutting machines (gear hobbing, shaping, and related processes).

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

• Produce high-quality gears to tight tolerances.

• Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure safe operation.

• Work closely with the engineering team to meet production deadlines.

• Carry out quality checks on finished components.

• Previous experience as a Gear Cutter / Gear Machinist (manual essential).

• Strong understanding of gear cutting processes (hobbing, shaping, slotting).

• Ability to work from technical drawings and use measuring equipment.

• High attention to detail and quality-focused approach.

• Good time management and ability to work independently.

• Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm (39 hours per week).

• Pay: £25.00+ per hour depending on experience.
