We are looking for a committed Company Accountant/Management Accountant to join the Finance team within a dynamic and fast-growing organisation. This role is crucial for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and providing financial insights to support data-driven business decision-making. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, budgeting, tax management, and liaising with auditors and other key stakeholders.
Day-to-day of the role:- Ensure the company remains compliant with UK law and regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and business opportunities.
- Develop and monitor quarterly/annual budgets to track financial performance.
- Prepare financial forecasts and provide recommendations for cost optimisation.
- Manage timely and accurate tax filings and stay updated with tax laws and regulations.
- Negotiate and manage company insurances and oversee invoicing, collections, and payments.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables to maintain cash flow.
- Implement internal controls to prevent financial risks and safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and assist contract managers with financial performance.
- Manage and support payroll and oversee petty cash management.
- Assist with financial/legal requirements within tenders and support change management and business development processes.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role within an SME finance department.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with various accounting software, preferably SAGE.
- A recognised UK accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
