- Lead the monthly balance sheet reporting and oversee all fixed asset activities including capitalisation, disposals, depreciation, and grant accounting
- Manage and support a small team of two, promoting professional development and continuous improvement
- Act as the technical accounting expert, advising on compliance, policy changes, and financial decision-making
- Own the preparation of key financial statement areas and liaise with auditors for both internal and external audits
- Be the lead on all tax-related matters, including preparation, submission, and advisory (VAT, Corporation Tax, etc.)
- Deliver regular forecasts and budgets for fixed assets, depreciation, and asset sales
- Maintain robust reconciliation processes and ensure control frameworks are consistently followed
- Contribute to financial systems upgrades and optimisation projects
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience in financial accounting with a strong technical background
- Excellent understanding of fixed asset accounting, tax regulations, and compliance standards
- Confident working with complex reconciliations and financial systems
- Strong communicator with an ability to translate complex accounting topics for non-finance stakeholders
- Experience in leading or coaching junior team members is highly desirable
