Relocruitment is delighted to be partnering with one of the largest removals and storage firms in the UK. Operating a 1,200-container warehouse, they specialise in logistics and storage solutions.
They are seeking a versatile and proactive Operations Assistant to support the senior management team. Reporting jointly to two Directors, this role requires engaging with various parts of the business and external agencies. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, adaptable, and detail-oriented individual who can manage tasks without direct supervision.
This is a permanent, full-time position based on-site at our client’s Dartford offices, and you must be able to reliably commute to this location.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Support colleagues with their tasks, providing cover during absences, primarily in Operations, Customer Management, and Customs & Excise matters.
- Confidently engage with customers, negotiating mutually acceptable outcomes and solutions.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and service levels, and process purchase orders.
- Provide HR support to the senior management team across various HR functions.
- Organise compliance reviews, support internal/external audits, and address action points.
- Manage health and safety protocols, including reviewing and updating key documentation (risk assessments, etc.).
- Serve as a PA to the Directors, managing schedules, correspondence, and general administrative tasks.
Skills and Attributes:
- Proven experience in an administrative or operational support role, ideally within the relocation, transport, or logistics sector.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confidence in engaging with colleagues, customers, and external stakeholders.
- High level of adaptability, able to tackle new tasks independently and effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Spanish or other European languages is an advantage but not essential.
