Premier Recruitment Group has the privilege to recruit on behalf of our very prestigious client based in Dartford, Kent.We are recruiting for experienced and forward thinking Manufacturing Team Leader. This is full time and permanent position and working for very well established company. Very interesting and varied role with a scope for progression.

Job Purpose:

In this role you will be responsible for managing daily operations within the manufacturing areas ensuring delivery requirements are met and manufacturing procedures, quality and safety standards are complied with.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing a small manufacturing team to achieve operational success
  • Manage work loads within the team to ensure schedule adherence ensuring staff and equipment capacity is fully utilised.
  • Have a hands-on role in the manufacture of immunodiagnostics (ELISA) products including but not limited to:
  1. Preparation areas
  2. Bulk manufacture
  3. Bead coating
  4. Plate coating
  5. Filling
  6. Assembly and Packing
  • Review and approve production batch records (POIs) in a timely manner to ensure supply levels are maintained.
  • Use the quality management system to ensure demand is met and deviations captured effectively, eg completion of non-conformances, CAPA's and change plans including the completion of investigations.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for their team by regularly reviewing COSHH assessments / risk assessments and performing internal safety inspections.
  • Promote continuous improvement by implementing and monitoring processes to increase quality, reduce cost and improve team productivity.
  • Support the training of staff, ensuring staff are adequately trained on processes and equipment.
  • Regularly review material usage variance (MUV) data to ensure Bill of Materials accurately reflect production requirements.
  • Lead department tiered meetings and raise issues accordingly to the next tier
  • Represent Manufacturing in project activities e.g. Operational excellence or Transfer of Technologies (ToT)
  • Be responsible for production equipment ensuring all equipment is calibrated/monitored in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and monitor stock levels of raw materials and rare reagents to ensure sufficient supply is unaffected, highlighting issues when they arise.
  • Deputise for manager in periods of absence.
  • Maintain the production schedule and prioritising work loads

Skill Requirements:

  • Science based education with minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Good understanding of cGMP manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of company systems (Quality Management and ERP system)
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to changes in priority
  • Ability to lead by example and communicate with clarity whilst demonstrating excellence in approach to work and people activities
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills with the ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to plan, analyse and challenge
  • Able to work cross functionally and collaboratively with many stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of all people related processes and procedures
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality
