Production Engineer

Deeside

With a track record of 50 years in the nuclear energy sector, Boccard is ideally placed to serve this new era of nuclear as a leading specialist in engineering, manufacturing, construction and maintenance across the energy industry.

To support our continued growth, Boccard are looking for experienced Production Engineers to work at our new fully digital manufacturing plant in Deeside. This role will be responsible for improving efficiency and productivity in the BUK Fabrication facility and will work closely with all teams involved in the fabrication of structural steel and pipework components.

Key responsibilities

Become familiar with Boctrack management system to initiate Work Orders for production and to be point of contact for troubleshooting Boctrack issues.

Assist in planning production batches to ensure that production targets are met.

Understand the importance of material traceability, weld traceability and quality standards.

Become a focal point for resolution of shop floor queries during production activities.

Ensure understanding and ability to navigate the document management system.

Have a strong nuclear safety mindset and promote good health and safety practices.

Work with and understand the different requirements between fabrication drawings and design drawings and perform ad-hoc checks of drawings and Boctrack data input provided by Colombia Engineering team.

Revise drawings and related Engineering documents in accordance with Change Management Procedures, using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.

Assist in setup of carbon and stainless steel pipework fabrication areas within the BUK workshop, ensuring a LEAN workflow and maximising efficiency.

Become familiar with the Technical Query system and ensure the Change Management system is applied through the production process.

Further enhance current engineering and welding knowledge to enable proactive contributions to workshop improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideally, degree qualified in an Engineering discipline, minimum level of education HNC or HND.

Competent in the use of Autocad

Strong IT systems systems knowledge and skills including advanced Microsoft office skills

Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills orally and in writing

Proven experience of working within a fabrication / manufacturing environment

Curious and inquisitive to learn and solve problems
