We are currently seeking four compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Practitioners to join our therapeutic children’s residential home in Derby, supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

About the Role:

As a Residential Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and safe environment where young people can thrive. You will work closely with your senior co-worker to deliver consistent care and support, helping residents with day-to-day routines, appointments, education, and social activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality care in line within Ofsted standards and framework
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
  • Support young people in education, health, and recreational activities
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care plans
  • Participate in a 3-week rolling rota, including sleep-in shifts

Mandatroy Requirements:

  • Experience in a children’s residential setting or transferable skills recognised by Ofsted
  • Currently hold or be working towards a relevant qualification:
    • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
    • Or Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (Residential)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential for transporting young people to appointments and activities)

Shift Details:

  • Shifts run from 08:00 to 23:00, followed by a sleep-in, with a half-hour handover the next morning (08:00–08:30)
  • Average of 56.5 hours per week including sleeps, totalling 244.5 hours per month
