Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in education? Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a specialist Further Education (FE) setting in Derby City Centre to recruit a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support young people with additional needs from September 2025 until December 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of learners aged 16 to 18, helping them access education and develop independence in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The Role:

You'll be working on a 1:1 basis with a student who requires additional support with their learning and personal development. This may include assisting with classroom activities, supporting communication, promoting positive behaviour, and helping the student engage with both academic and life skills programmes.

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with young people or adults with additional needs (SEND/SEMH/ASC)

  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with the wider team

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
