An inviting and supportive primary school in Littleover is seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. If you love working with young children and want to make a real impact during their most formative years, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities within the EYFS curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children, encouraging development in key areas such as communication, social skills, and early numeracy/literacy.
  • Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with personal care routines and transitions throughout the day.
  • Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and assessments.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and carers to support each child’s development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in an early years or nursery setting.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare or education (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning or Early Years) is desirable.
  • Understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices.
  • A warm, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
