The Coopers Arms is a family run pub, restaurant and events venue. We have been open for 34 years and won many awards along the way. We are a large traditional establishment with cosy bar areas, pub restaurant dining, a private function suite and a large beer garden overlooking our 5 acre fishing lake

As a family run business, we take great pride in providing excellent quality food alongside a friendly personalised service.

Core responsibilities

  • You will take overall responsibility for stocking and maintaining the cellar
  • Be able to lead for the manager in their absence
  • Assist with Social Media to ensure exposure and recognition
  • Undertake administrative tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Overseeing and liaising with the kitchen
  • Keeping up to date with licensing legislation
  • Enforcing and maintaining health and safety rules
  • Reporting to owners when necessary

Management of staff

Assist in :

  • Staff recruitment and training
  • Ongoing staff development and training
  • Maintaining staff morale
  • Maintaining a fun but professional environment
  • Preparing and monitoring staff rotas to meet business needs, providing adequate cover at all times

Operational responsibilities

  • You will be in charge of ordering for the bar and ensuring that all invoices are checked against delivery notes and any anomalies resolved before releasing to the manager
  • You'll adhere to stock-control procedures and ensure that all staff do likewise
  • Ensure that the agreed opening and closing procedures are completed to company standards
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are monitored and adhered to at all times
