HV Project Manager

Location: Derby
Salary: £60,000–£70,000 + Car Allowance + Bonuses + 25 Days Holiday + Expenses

Neos Engineering are partnering with a growing high-voltage engineering contractor delivering nationwide HV power projects across Rail, Solar, MOD and major Blue Chip environments. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an HV Project Manager to oversee full-lifecycle delivery of HV installations across the UK.

The Role:

• Manage the full lifecycle of HV power projects — client assessment, design, procurement, installation and commissioning
• Oversee projects ranging from £50,000 to £1.2m, often forming part of larger multi-contract sites
• Deliver work packages including EV charging substations, MOD substation builds, HV switchgear installations, transformers, and LV/HV interlinking cabling
• Coordinate design, site teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects run on time and to specification
• Maintain UK-wide oversight — projects span from Scotland to Cornwall, including the Isle of Wight
• Ensure site presence as required, including stay-away when necessary to properly manage delivery
• Work closely with Contracts Managers who will support on-site several days per week
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong autonomy and decision-making authority
• Keep accurate project records, commercial tracking and progress reporting

The Candidate:

• Experienced Project Manager with a background in High Voltage electrical projects
• Industry experience suitable for HV environments — EV Substations
• HV authorisations required; City & Guilds/SAP course exposure beneficial
• Strong understanding of HV installations, substations, switchgear and associated infrastructure
• Comfortable working independently within a trust-based, non-micromanaged culture
• Able to travel UK-wide with stay-away as required (approx. 5 days per month / 1.5 days per week)
• Full UK driving licence
• Ideally living within 45 minutes of Derby HQ
