Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic Behaviour Mentor to join a thriving secondary school in Derby from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position ideal for individuals with experience supporting young people, particularly those facing behavioural or emotional challenges.

The Role:As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students to provide one-to-one and small group behaviour support. You'll collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to help students overcome barriers to learning, improve classroom behaviour, and build confidence and resilience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing tailored behaviour support for students

  • Helping create a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Working closely with the school's pastoral and behaviour teams

  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records

  • Supporting staff with de-escalation and behaviour strategies

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people (in a school, youth work, or similar setting)

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • A calm, patient, and positive approach

  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
