We are currently seeking a Cleaner to join a welcoming and well-maintained school environment in Derby. The Role:We are looking for a committed and detail-oriented Cleaner to maintain cleanliness standards across school facilities. This role is essential to ensuring a hygienic and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. The position is part-time and may involve early morning or late afternoon shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitise classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas in line with school and health & safety standards.

  • Ensure floors are swept, mopped, or vacuumed appropriately.

  • Refill supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels as required.

  • Safely use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.

  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the site manager or relevant staff.

  • Work independently or as part of a team to ensure all areas are cleaned on schedule.

Minimum Requirements:To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: Previous cleaning experience, preferably within a school or similar setting.

  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of cleaning products, health & safety, and COSHH regulations.

  • Skills: Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work to a schedule.

  • Safeguarding: All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to working if not already in possession of one registered to the update service. Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in an educational or public-sector setting.
