Purpose of role and accountabilities:

Experienced TIG welder required at Gardner aerospace Derby working in our welding department manufacturing components for the aerospace industry. Some job specific training will be available.

  • TIG welding of Aluminium aircraft components
  • Adjust sheet parts to fit weld jig
  • Use Measuring equipment to confirm parts to drawing
  • Strict adherence to health and safety, and standard operation protocols expected
  • As part of your role you will be asked to support the Energy team and consider energy reduction and savings within the scope of your role leading to continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to continual improvement in manufacturing, quality, health, safety environmental, energy and sustainability management.

Core skills/attributes needed:

  • Aluminum welding experience in thin gauge sheet material is required
  • Ability to understand and work from drawings would be an advantage
  • Have some fabrication experience using various basic hand tools
  • Good practical skills
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams to deliver parts on time
  • Problem analysis and decision making
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and other modern manufacturing methods
  • Adhere and follow ISO 50001/14001/45001/9001 procedures
