Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves a range of duties including sampling, quality control, and documentation, ideal for someone with a background in Chemistry or related fields. The successful candidate will be part of a busy industrial laboratory environment, where precision and quality are paramount.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Sampling, correct labelling, and quality control of incoming raw materials.
  • Conducting quality control of intermediate and finished manufactured products.
  • Documenting test results using LIMS software and populating certificates of analysis.
  • Producing commercial samples upon request from the sales team.
  • Preparing samples for external analysis and assisting with label approvals.
  • Maintaining general laboratory housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A-Level in Chemistry preferred; other qualifications like HNC/HND or relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Good background understanding of Chemistry; experience with complex mixtures is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a busy, industrial laboratory setting is ideal, but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a busy team.
  • Competence to work independently after training is complete.
  • Good mathematical ability and computer literacy are essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Flexibility to cover different shifts as required, with the primary hours being 06:00-14:30. Occasional evening shifts and standard office hours may also apply.
You will need to be able drive or be able to get to site independently due to shift times.
