We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves a range of duties including sampling, quality control, and documentation, ideal for someone with a background in Chemistry or related fields. The successful candidate will be part of a busy industrial laboratory environment, where precision and quality are paramount.
Day-to-day of the role:- Sampling, correct labelling, and quality control of incoming raw materials.
- Conducting quality control of intermediate and finished manufactured products.
- Documenting test results using LIMS software and populating certificates of analysis.
- Producing commercial samples upon request from the sales team.
- Preparing samples for external analysis and assisting with label approvals.
- Maintaining general laboratory housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- A-Level in Chemistry preferred; other qualifications like HNC/HND or relevant experience will also be considered.
- Good background understanding of Chemistry; experience with complex mixtures is desirable.
- Previous experience in a busy, industrial laboratory setting is ideal, but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a busy team.
- Competence to work independently after training is complete.
- Good mathematical ability and computer literacy are essential.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Flexibility to cover different shifts as required, with the primary hours being 06:00-14:30. Occasional evening shifts and standard office hours may also apply.
