LB369 - Facilities CoordinatorSalary: £DOELocation: Market Lavington Overview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Facilities Coordinator on behalf of one of our clients.This is a varied and rewarding role that supports both day-to-day operations during term time and preparations for the letting programme.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. To support school operations and events you will be required to work early mornings, evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu will be given.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruit, induct, train, develop and retain the domestic services team.
- Oversee management of Boarding House Matrons.
- Manage staff attendance, approve timesheets and prepare the monthly payroll.
- Support team tasks when required.
- Administer, monitor and coordinate the domestic service provision.
- Allocate cleaning tasks following standards and ensure staff receive training.
- Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Supervise deep cleaning schedules during school holidays.
- Engage and oversee cleaning contractors.
- Ensure facilities are prepared for events.
- Oversee the provision of an efficient laundry service.
- Assist the procurement and upkeep of soft furnishings, furniture and supplies.
- Oversee the purchasing and distribution of uniforms.
- Obtain best value for products, services and equipment.
- Coordinate crossing staff and ensure they are trained and equipped with necessary safety gear.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain safe storage of equipment, chemicals and linen.
- Regularly inspect equipment for safety and report any hazards or damage.
- Implement risk assessments and safe working practices.
- Be a member of the Health & Safety Committee.
- Prepare and manage service budgets.
- Report any maintenance requirements.
- Attend weekend functions when required.
- Engage with the weekly and termly operational planning cycles and requirements.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Director of Operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven leadership in domestic services or housekeeping within complex environments, including recruitment and appraisals.
- Skilled in managing large teams, delegating tasks and monitoring performance effectively.
- Competent in managing departmental budgets, payroll and securing supplies / services at best value.
- Demonstrates authority while leading by example.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Works independently and remains calm under pressure.
- Flexibility is essential.
- Prioritise the safety and welfare of others.
Desirable:
- Experience in schools.
- BICS qualification or equivalent.
- Willingness to obtain first aid certificate.
