Due to an internal promotion, they are now looking for a Trainee Accountant to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is the perfect opportunity to grow and develop your career, within a company who is committed to putting its people first.
As Trainee Accountant, you will be reporting directly into the Financial Accountant and will gain exposure to various finance functions including prepayments, inter-company accounting, employee expenses, month-end journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
What will you be doing?
- Prepayments & Inter-Company - aspects of accounting and reconciliation.
- Processing employee expenses.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
- Prepare and post any necessary journals for month end, including vehicle lease and payroll wage accrual.
- Support the companies' daily banking input and cashflow forecast.
- Prepare Australian and New Zealand GST return monthly and assist in FBT preparation.
- Manage the fixed assets register and produce depreciation journals monthly.
- Promptly addressing financial-related inquiries from co-workers, management, or external auditors.
What skills are we looking for?
- Experience gained within a finance department.
- Motivated and driven to learn and progress a career within accounting.
- A flexible attitude, adaptable to change and able to work well in a fast-paced environment, under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Troubleshooting, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent time management as you will to meet deadlines and provide timely information.
- Microsoft Office knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel - pivot tables, lookups, graphs, etc.
