We are seeking a dedicated Handy Person/Driver to join our team for a temporary assignment. This role involves driving a minibus to support the transportation of service users to and from day services, as well as undertaking basic maintenance tasks at a residential establishment.
Day-to-day of the role:- Morning Shift:Â 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
- Afternoon Shift:Â 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
- Drive the minibus safely, ensuring the comfort and safety of all passengers.
- Assist with the safe transfer of passengers to and from the vehicle at their destinations.
- Perform basic maintenance of buildings and grounds, including cleaning, changing fuses, light bulbs, and making minor repairs.
- Conduct ground maintenance tasks such as weeding, grass cutting, and hedge trimming.
- Perform security duties by patrolling the premises and reporting or addressing any security risks.
- Ensure wheelchairs are securely clamped and passengers are safely seated according to the Code of Practice.
- Clean vehicles as scheduled and perform daily maintenance checks as per the Authority's guidelines.
- Must possess a D1 driving licence category.
- Experience in driving minibuses with passengers.
- Willingness to undertake in-house training for operating real tail lifts and securing wheelchairs.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and handle porterage duties.
- Good communication skills to liaise with the manager about daily routes and passenger needs.
- You will require a Valid Enhanced DBS on the update Service
