Orka Financial is working with a fast-growing, client-focused business in Didcot, who are looking to recruit a motivated and ambitious Accountant. This is an exciting role to build on existing experience in a supportive environment that offers excellent scope for career progression and professional development.

You’ll have the opportunity to interact with clients, build strong professional relationships, and develop your communication and advisory skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records

  • Monthly journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations

  • Assist with management accounts and assist with the preparation of statutory accounts

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with FCA regulatory returns

  • Liaise with external auditors and respond to queries

  • Support client communications, providing financial insights and resolving queries

  • Collaborate with the wider finance team on process improvements and ad hoc projects

What We're Looking For:
  • Actively studying ACCA/ACA/AAT (study support available)

  • Knowledge assisting management accounts and have an understanding of balance sheet controls

  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (Xero experience preferred)

  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive and client-focused approach
