Design Engineer, CAD, Aerospace, CO7224

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join the team of a highly-successful company at the forefront of Aerospace innovation in a newly-created role.

The Role

The Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design and testing of low fidelity models and manufacturing processes across my client's product portfolio.  The Design Engineer will work to develop CAD/CAM models and drawings for parts and sub-assemblies, as well as designing, building and characterising jigs and fixtures required for the testing of my client's products.  The Design Engineer will also create and write MAPs, will review and approve engineering drawings, and will work to identify problems in design and production, providing appropriate recommendations.

What do I need?

  • Experience in production within a highly-regulated industry, with Space/Aerospace preferred
  • Experience of using CAD software, ideally SolidWorks
  • A strong understanding of engineering drawing principles and metrology
