Facilities Technician
We are a growing medical device company seeking a Facilities Technician to support the relocation and setup of our new manufacturing site in Harwell. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in both the transition and the ongoing technical operations of a medical device facility, including cleanroom environments, precision assembly equipment, and critical infrastructure systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Relocation and Setup (Welwyn Garden City to Harwell):

Assist with the coordination and execution of the site move, including equipment decommissioning, transportation, and recommissioning

Work alongside contractors, builders, and internal teams to ensure smooth setup of the new site

Support the installation and commissioning of utilities and infrastructure (cleanroom, HVAC, air handling, BMS.)

Ensure health & safety and regulatory compliance during the transition process
Ongoing Duties (Harwell):

Maintain and monitor cleanroom environments (ISO-classified), including HVAC, air filtration, and pressure balancing

Provide technical support for production equipment including laser welders, ovens, microscopes, soldering stations, and pouch sealers

Assist with preventative maintenance, equipment calibration, and first-line fault diagnosis

Support electronic assembly tasks under microscopes and in controlled environments as needed

Oversee general facilities upkeep, including stores management (dry cabinets, inventory storage)

Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with ISO 13485 and GMP standards

Liaise with internal teams to support smooth daily operations and respond to facility-related issues

Previous experience in a technical, facilities, or engineering support role, ideally in a regulated or medical device environment

Knowledge of cleanroom operations and environmental controls (HVAC, air handling units)

Hands-on experience with technical assembly tools and processes (e.g. soldering, microscopes, ovens)

Understanding of facility maintenance protocols and equipment management

Familiarity with ISO 13485 and/or GMP requirements (highly desirable)

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Excellent organisational skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach

Flexibility to work initially in Welwyn Garden City and transition to the Harwell site
