Job Title: Telephone Business Development Manager

Location: South Yorkshire - Hybrid - WFH 1 day per week

Salary: Between £25-30,000 basic plus bonus OTE £35,000

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm

About the position of Telephone Business Development Manager:

We have a great new opportunity to join a highly respected broker, established for over 50 years in the bridging and mortgage industry. This multi-skilled role combines customer service, sales ability, and strong relationship management. While previous experience in a target-driven sales environment isn't essential, you should be commercially minded and confident in identifying and developing business opportunities. The focus is on supporting and nurturing long-term relationships with Intermediaries-helping them place deals and uncover new opportunities across a range of products, including Mortgages and Bridging Loans. Ideal for someone from a mortgage retention, customer success, or lender background who thrives on collaboration, trust, and adding real value to broker partnerships.

Responsibilities for the role of Telephone Business Development Manager:

  • Develop a business strategy to generate telephone mortgage sales from new or existing Credit Intermediaries so objectives are exceeded.
  • Achieve daily and monthly targets.
  • Help, support and work closely with external BDM's to exceed their objectives.
  • Collate management information as required by the Directors.
  • Work closely with the processing and underwriting functions so that Credit Intermediaries receive a first-class service.
  • Working closely with the Marketing team.

Experience and skills required for the role of Telephone Business Development Manager:

  • Strong sales, customer retentions and relationship management experience with a proactive, relationship-focused approach.
  • Confident in nurturing relationships and developing and maintaining long-term partnerships.
  • Solid understanding of financial services and the mortgage or bridging loan markets.
  • Capable of building and managing a consistent pipeline through existing and new Credit Intermediaries.
  • Effective communicator with excellent phone, presentation, and IT skills.
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented, with the ability to manage own workload.
  • Support external BDMs as needed, including maintaining broker relationships during absences.
  • Confident in conducting video meetings/phone outreach to engage inactive registered intermediaries.
