We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to EYFS children with high-level and complex additional needs. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide individualised support to EYFS children, focusing on their specific educational and developmental needs.
  • Work closely with educational staff to implement and adapt learning activities that cater to the child's abilities and challenges.
  • Use BSL/Makaton and other communication tools to enhance student interaction and engagement.
  • Regularly assess the child's progress and adapt support strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages all children to thrive.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children with additional needs.
  • Proficiency or strong familiarity with BSL/Makaton; highly desirable.
  • Understanding of the educational challenges faced by children with communication and interaction needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to educational support.
