Job Description

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Doncaster is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant (TA) or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to deliver small group phonics interventions starting in September 2025.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about early literacy and experienced in supporting children with low attainment and additional needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted phonics sessions using the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised programme.
  • Support pupils in small groups, focusing on early reading and phonics development.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCO to adapt learning to individual needs.
  • Track and report on pupil progress and engagement.
Requirements
  • Experience delivering Little Wandle phonics is essential.
  • Proven track record of working with children with low attainment and/or SEND.
  • TA or HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
